Verification process

If your account has not been verified yet, you enjoy just to about 60% of all the opportunities that you get on deriv. even though you are not obliged to verify the account the very time you create it doing so gives you access to the full package being offered on deriv. What Trading account verification is in its simplest form means scanning your personal documents be it a passport or National ID then upload it to the Broker. After that, the document will be inspected, after the inspection it will take a day or two then you will receive an email confirming the new status of your trading account or Deriv might require additional documents necessary for the verification.

How documents are properly uploaded

  • The scanned photos must be of good and high quality.
  • The scanned copy must be clear and in colour.
  • No  additions, no obvious erasures scratch-outs or other unauthorized manipulations are allowed.
  • The name(s) on the account must be identical to the one(s) in the document.
  • Accepted file types are .png, .jpeg, .jpg, .gif and .pdf. The size of the file must not exceed 25 MB, the resolution should be more than 400 pixels.
  • The document submitted must be valid for at least 6 months at the moment of applying for verification and be duly stamped and signed.
  •  If the account is a corporate account, the documents confirming the company’s registration must be submitted.
  • Electronic bank statements and electronic utility bills are not accepted for verification. Bank statements can be accepted if the document is signed and sealed by bank officials, utility bill should be uploaded with payment slip. If there is a barcode or QR code on a utility bill, then you do not need to download a payment slip.

Four main reasons why documents are Declined

1.Expired documents

When you upload your documents for verification purposes in the system make sure they are still within the range of the accepted period. Deriv does not take documents that are not up to date. For instance even if the Passport has just recently expired do not upload it, its best to first renew and then proceed with the verification process.

2.Documents that are not clear

The scanned documents and pictures must be of quality in terms of pixels, they normally must not exceed 25 Mb for them to maintain the quality wen you upload them, All the details must be clearly visible to the software system responsible for validation. If it is Haysi its a wise thing to do a rescan and upload again.

3.Invalid documents

The uploaded documents must be valid, The names on the documents must correspond to the names and details on your account, The residence that appears on the trading account must tally to the proof of residence that you provide. If the account is not yours even if you are the one currently using it, its of no use to verify it using your documents they will be declined.

4. Cropped edges

Images and scanned copies should not show any sign of edit and manipulation, if they are suspected of any scrupulous acts of that nature they are disqualified and accounts might be suspended for some time

Bottom line

The verification process is not a child’s play just like in the Banking system same applies with the broker, when you upload your documents make sure they are up to date and they are clearly visible. Do not use fake documents for this important process your funds might be confiscated for good or for life.
